What is robotics?
Robotics is an area if technology that combines computer science and engineering. Robots and machines are coded to perform specific actions and commands by the programmer.
About our class
Yes, We CAN learn about Robotics! With the LEGO™ WeDo Robotics System, young children can build and program their robotic creations. Young imaginations soar! The LEGO® Education WeDo™ Robotics Builder, allows students to explore different Robotic Themes. Students working in teams will work with simple machines, program models they design and create, measure time and distance, write, and much more! Please bring a snack and drink to class.

After the class
In this course, students were introduced to the concept of robotics and programming. They built and coded robots to while learning about engineering and coding basics.
Parent Activity Suggestions:
-Simple machines are a large part of the Wedo construction kit. Ask your student about what machines he/she learned about and how he/she incorporated them into his/her robots. Also, ask your student about the different code they used to make his/her robots run.
-Robots are often used to perform everyday tasks in place of humans. Help your child design a robot that could do one of his/her chores. What would the robot look like? What kind of simple machines, sensors, and motors would it have? How would you program it?
