Extreme Coding: Augmented Reality
About our augmented reality class
What is augmented reality?
Augmented reality is used by computers to interact with the real-world environment. Computer-generated information is used to enhance and expand on real-world information, bringing the virtual world to life.
About our class
Dive into more advanced computer science topics that include augmented reality coding. Computers are getting smarter every day due to advances in machine learning algorithms. Coders can teach computers to recognize faces, play games, and find patterns. In our class, we will create a chatbot, Rock, Paper, Scissors game, and more. We’ll then expand our knowledge and code an augmented reality game.

After the class
In this course, students were introduced to augmented reality. Students coded games and programs that demonstrated the ability of augmented reality.
Parent activity suggestions:
- Have your child describe augmented reality. What is it? How is it used?
- Ask your child about the limitations and strengths of augmented reality. How were these traits reflected in the class? What did they learn?
